City Livers? Ditch the SUV For Something Smaller
Living in a big city can have its advantages. For some, the honking horns and bright lights are a soothing lullaby that reminds them of home. And you'll never have a problem finding something to do. But whatever way you slice it, driving in a big city is never a plus. Having a car is not a feasible option, and taking a taxi or subway is not always ideal. Enter the low speed electric vehicle.
For driving in the city, size matters. Big trucks and SUV’s are not suitable for such a compact area where parking is limited, and you'll likely never need that much space to begin with. The smaller the better, and low speed electric vehicles, motorcycles or scooters can get you quickly from one end of the town to the other, without having to deal with public transportation.
In fact, most trips you take aren't more than 12 or 13 miles away from your house, according to the
most recent National Household Travel Survey. Plus, wouldn't you rather store your groceries, gym bag or other odds and ends rather than having to lug them back and forth?
While the ease and convenience of low speed vehicles may be enough, you can't deny the added benefit of helping out the environment. Especially in bigger cities, there's already enough smog and soot lingering in the air that we don't needed the added emissions from full-size cars. Low speed electric vehicles are just that: electric. They won't release any harmful toxins in the air, and they won't run on fuel. In fact, they'll end up costing you as little as 1 cent per mile to operate.
